Air Fried Breaded Mushrooms

Have you jumped on the air fryer bandwagon yet? The air fryer is such a fantastic appliance that can make so many different dishes easily. I have used it to make french fries, buffalo chicken, air fryer zucchini, and now these crispy Air Fried Breaded Mushrooms.

How Do You Make Air Fried Breaded Mushrooms?

I used button mushrooms for this recipe, but you really could use baby portobello mushrooms or any dry mushroom you prefer.

First, remove any dirt from the mushrooms with damp paper towel, and then let them dry. Next, place a wax paper on a large plate and set aside. Prepare 4 small shallow bowls.

Fill one bowl with water. In the 2nd bowl, place the flour. In the 3rd bowl, add the eggs and beat lightly. In the 4th bowl, add the bread crumbs, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Dip each mushroom in water, then flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally the bread crumb mixture. Make sure the mushroom is coated evenly. Set aside on the large plate. Once all the mushrooms are coated, place them in the fridge for about 15-30 minutes to let the coating set.

Lightly oil the air fryer basket. Place the mushrooms in a single layer in the basket. Cook at 400°F until golden brown at about 7 minutes, flipping them over halfway through. Once done, let the air fried breaded mushrooms rest for a while, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
