Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 lb Pork belly slab
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spices powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Coarse sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Wash and pat dry the pork belly.
  • Punch lots of holes into the skin of the pork belly using a metal fork. Do not punch the holes too deep.
  • Apply the meat rub (mixture of five-spice powder, salt, and pepper) on the sides and the bottom of the pork belly. Avoid the skin.
  • Next, brush the pork skin with vinegar. Place the meat on a tray and leave it in the fridge uncovered and allow the skin to dry for a minimum of 12 hours.
  • Take out the pork belly from the fridge. Wrap the meat with aluminum foil leaving the skin exposed.
  • Place coarse sea salt onto the skin of the pork belly, make sure you cover every part of the skin.
  • Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 360F.
  • Place the belly into the air fryer and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Once done, remove the foil and pork belly from the air fryer. Remove the foil and scrape off the salt from the skin.
  • Place the pork belly back into the air fryer basket, skin side facing up. Spray some oil onto the skin.
  • Cook for 15 minutes at 400F. Once done, let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
